A village in Kosiyakutoli tehsil of Nainital district in Uttarakhand, Pangot is a hill station for birders, photographers and naturalist. 15 km from Nainital city, this small hamlet is populated by several species of wildlife including a significant number of migratory birds. Almost 150 species of birds are reported in Pangot and its surrounding areas among which lammergeyer, Blue-wingedminla, Himalayan Griffon, spotted & slaty-backed forktail, khalij pheasant and a variety of thrushes are the most prominent species.
Bhim Tal

A part of the ancient silk route of China, Bhimtal is a blissful tourist spot in Nainital district of Uttarakhand. Famous for its magnificent island enclosed by blue water, this nature's delight is located at an elevation of 1370 m above sea level at a distance of around 84 km from Corbett. The lake is set at a scenic location surrounded by emerald greenery of Himalayan Mountain. On the banks of the lake there is an ancient temple called Bhimeshwara Mahadeva Temple which is believed to be built during the period when the Pandavas were in exile.

For bird lovers, the sanctuary is a delight as around 200 species of birds are reported to be found here. Visit Khali Estate, the former royal palace or Gananath Temple, the holiest shrine in this region.
